Welcome To TrekTrainers

We’ll help you achieve your trekking/hiking goals.

Whether it’s a moderate 5-mile hike or climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, whether a single day adventure or a multi-day trip – preparation is key. Every trek is different, every hiker is different, so we provide individualized coaching in designing training program specifically for you.

To pursue a trekking or a hiking adventure we have developed the TREK Model: Training, Resilience, Equipment, and Knowledge. We want you to be trained (T) and physically ready, have the resilience (R) to successfully adapt to changing terrain and environmental conditions while maintaining psychological well-being in the face of adversity, equipped (E) with the right gear for an outdoor adventure and the knowledge (K) to maximize your fitness and minimize risks. Our TREK model is individually designed to help you be optimally prepared for your adventure.

We bring over 50 years of climbing, hiking and trekking experience. Our medical and physiology backgrounds uniquely qualify us to provide the very latest scientific information and most advanced training technique for safe and successful hikes and treks.

TRAINING

We provide age-specific guidance with special emphasis and optimization for clients over age 50. It is an individualized and focused approach to developing strength and cardiovascular fitness with an emphasis on rest and recovery to maximize the physiological adaptations.

RESILIENCE

Trek Trainers will provide mental preparation strategies for hiking and trekking activities. This will include the preparation phase of mental focus prior to the event and what to do when facing adversity during the trek/hike. Additionally, we are including a post-event review. While it is exhilarating to be in the outdoors among majestic mountains, there are many potential situations that could affect the hike/trek such as weather, group dynamics, food/water, sickness, altitude issues, etc. We are giving you strategies to help deal with these adverse events.

EQUIPMENT

Distance, duration, seasonal variations and technical difficulty of the hike will influence what you need. We will help you with gear selection from footwear to clothing to backpacks. We will cover all essential items as well as specialized equipment for your upcoming trek.

KNOWLEDGE

Our goal is to give you the knowledge to be successful in the mountains to achieve any trekking or hiking goal you have. We will teach you various strategies to maximize your training and minimize your risk of injury.

Our Guided Hikes and Treks

We currently focus on leading hikes in New England to help people with their knowledge and safety in the mountains.  Hikes are organized for beginners to advanced and are tailored to individual goals.

We are currently organizing treks for Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro for 2025/2026.  We will handle all the logistics of the trek once in country and we’ll join you on the trek to share our knowledge and passion for trekking.

Add your contact information and we will let you know about upcoming hikes and treks.
