Peru – Cordillera Huayhuash – June 8-21, 2026
The Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru is one of the most breathtaking mountain ranges in the world, a compact yet dramatic knot of icy peaks that rise sharply into turquoise sky, encircled by crystalline lakes of deep blues and greens. Jagged summits such as Yerupajá and Siula Grande soar above sweeping valleys carved by glaciers, while high-altitude meadows glow with ichu grass and wildflowers moving in constant wind. The landscape feels both intimate and immense: quiet alpaca pastures suddenly giving way to towering ice walls, mirror-still lagoons reflecting serrated ridgelines, and crisp mountain light that shifts the colors hour by hour. If lucky, you will see vicuña herds roaming the mountainsides. Remote, pristine, and deeply spiritual, the Huayhuash offers a sense of awe and stillness that lingers long after you leave its trails.
