Avenue of the Volcanoes

Ecuador’s Avenue of the Volcanoes is a dramatic 300-kilometer (186-mile) volcanic corridor through the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes and one of South America’s premier high-altitude trekking regions.

The valley is flanked by more than 30 active, dormant, and extinct stratovolcanoes. Hikers move from lush cloud forests and alpine páramo grasslands to rocky crater rims and equatorial glaciers.
