Recovery with a goal
A Different Kind of Mountain
Jonathan Sacks

“My mountain was recovery. Mike helped me reach it.”
Jonathan came to Mike after surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon. He was not training to climb a mountain; he wanted a disciplined path back to the life he had before the injury. A fixed training schedule, with a clear objective at the end, gave that recovery structure.
Mike built the work around Jonathan’s recovery, combining rehabilitation-style exercises with strength, stamina and flexibility. Their one-on-one sessions were supported by a shared app, where Mike followed his progress, explained the data and used it to keep the plan accountable and moving forward.
Jonathan’s mountain was personal: a full recovery and a return to the tennis court where the injury had happened. He reached it in less than a year. His story is a useful reminder that Trek Trainers’ approach is not really about summits—it is about preparing deliberately for a meaningful goal.
