Arul Mahadevan in the mountains

About Arul

Experience shaped by the mountains.

Arul is a cancer physician based in the Boston area. Growing up in India and pursuing his medical career on three continents gave him an early appreciation for travel and the natural world.

During the COVID period, hiking began as a way to build resilience and quickly became a serious passion. In 2020 he completed all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000-foot peaks in roughly two and a half months, and he has since hiked in Arizona, Colorado, California, and Washington in conditions that include winter travel.

His international trekking experience includes Mount Fuji in Japan, Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. He brings that combination of medical knowledge, endurance experience, and practical mountain judgment to Trek Trainers.
