Presidential Traverse - South

New Hampshire’s Presidential Traverse is one of the Northeast’s premier alpine routes. The Southern Presidential Traverse explores the sweeping ridgeline between Mount Washington and Crawford Notch, including Monroe, Eisenhower, and Pierce. Expect approximately 12–16 miles and 5,000–6,000 feet of elevation gain.

The hike typically begins near Crawford Notch and follows the Crawford Path over Pierce, Eisenhower, and Monroe to an overnight at AMC’s Lakes of the Clouds Hut. The second day climbs Mount Washington before descending the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail
